Horatio’s Heroes Donates $2,000 to the Brian O’Connell Homeless Project

We are proud to announce a $2,000 donation to the Brian O’Connell Homeless Project (brianoc.org), a local nonprofit dedicated to aiding individuals experiencing homelessness and providing them with essential resources and dignity.

About the Brian O’Connell Homeless Project

The Brian O’Connell Homeless Project was founded by Donna and Walter Finneran in memory of Donna's twin brother, Brian O’Connell, who tragically passed away while experiencing homelessness. The foundation’s mission is simple but powerful: to offer aid and basic necessities to individuals facing homelessness, ensuring that everyone has access to food, supplies, support, and compassion. Every initiative and outreach effort is carried out with respect for the dignity of those it serves, reflecting Brian’s legacy and the belief that no one should have to struggle without support.

One of the project’s hallmark efforts includes assembling and distributing “Brian Bags” — backpacks or kits filled with food, hygiene products, warm clothing, and other useful items — that are given directly to people in need throughout our community. These bags provide immediate, practical help and a message of care and solidarity.

How Your Donation Helped

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Horatio’s Heroes’ $2,000 contribution was directed toward the purchase of essential supplies for these outreach efforts. Specifically, the funds were used to purchase and assemble 200 Brian Bags stocked with food, water, hygiene items, socks, and other basic necessities.

By contributing financially, we helped to amplify the impact of Brian O’Connell’s legacy — bringing practical help and human connection to those who need it most.
